Introduction

LowBackPainisoneofthemostcommoncausesofphysicianvisit innowadaysandbecauseofthis,numerousstudieshavefocusedon itsdiagnosisandmanagement.Amongthem,MRIplaysimportant andusefuldiagnostictoolforPhysiciansandpatients.

PurposeofStudy

Theobjective ofthestudyistodescribespinepathologylikely common  inMyanmar.  Inaddition,wewantto  highlighttheroleand effectivenessofMRIinSpinestudyandtherelationbetweenBMIand Low BackPain.

StudyPopulation

TheStudyPopulationincluded407patientswhohaveacomplaintof low back pain between2015-2017andwhose height andweight measurementwerenoted.

  3. Numberofcases-407lowbackpainpatientsbetweentheagegroup of20 to60 yearswith nooperativehistoryonlumbar region.

BMI

  1. BMIistoattempttoquantifythetissuemass(muscle,fatandbone) inanindividualandthencategorize thatpersonas underweight, normalweight,overweightand obesebasedon thatvalue.
  2. The BMI of the South Asian is quite different from European Countries.Itdependupontwo mainfactors. (I)Additionalfatcontent(II)Differenceoffatdistributiononthebodyin theAsians.

VBMI groups classified in total 407 patients are as follows:

Radiological  Findings

Among 407cases,19casesarenormal,376casesarefoundas DiscDiseasesand another12 casesarefoundas incidentalfindings. Indiscdiseasescases,PID wasthemost commoncases.

CONCLUSION

  • According to our case study, degenerative discs disease is the most common cause especially Prolapsed Intervertebral Disc(PID).
  • In addition, we can find out the incidental findings such as lower pelvis mass  and ovarian cyst. That’s why we want to suggest all the  female patients who has suffering back pain because MRI has no radiation hazards.
  • Moreover, sports and daily exercises will be helpful to maintain BMI within normal range.
